The diagrams are great for showing you how to tie the knot in conjunction with the instructions. If you still need additional help you can go to the knot card website and it will show virtual video images of the knots bieng tied. I like this knot card set simply because I find it fun and useful to learn a variety of basic knots to use around camp. This set is fool proof. I cannot recommend this set enough. This is great for bushcraft knowledge and the ability to tie a good knot to a variety of situations can save your gear or your life. It gives simple, clear, concise, easy to read instructions for every knot.
These should be standard issue for every outdoor enthusiast. Although this is not a good way to learn these basic knots (nothing beats being shown), it is a good way to remember and practice them. Being printed on plastic cards, it's also light, sturdy and waterproof.

The knots are explained simple enough for the kids. The product is compact and doubles as a ruler. It is waterproof and will fit nicely in any small tackle box. The Knot tying guide was purchased for some nieces who want to start doing more in their fishing. They have both found it helpful and their knots were tested under real conditions and survived.
You can't go wrong with these. These cards are great to have in my pack. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, and all the cards are held together well.
